House plants- should I buy one?

 House Plants

These beautiful plants were gifted to me for Christmas from this lovely company: Patch Plants.

Snake and Swiss Cheese plant

"At Patch, we want to help bring the joy of gardening to anyone and everyone. To do that, we bring our customers fresh, personalised ideas, we source the best plants and products from the best suppliers, then we deliver them to their new home, along with all the tips an urban gardener could possibly need to look after their new garden."

Patch gives you the best tips to keeping your plants alive, and even gives them names!

Why should I buy a plant? What's the point?

Well, plants are pretty amazing. Everyone knows they take in the carbon dioxide we breathe out and give out oxygen, but many plants actually clean the air we breathe. Toxins such as formaldehyde are potentially cancer-causing, but plants such as the Snake plant or Spider plant will detox around 90% of this toxin in the air.

Which plants are easiest to care for?

Spider plant

Sweetheart plant

Syngonium Neon Robusta
White Bird of Paradise

Peace lily

These plants are pretty happy in any light conditions, and only require watering around once a week. The company will also send you an email explaining what each plant likes/dislikes! They aren't too expensive too, and you can pick the height and pot design. The first plant I owned was a peace lily, which I've had for almost a year and (often I thought I'd killed it as a new plant owner). But, let me tell you, it is practically un-killable!
